“Sixty Years of the Cliburn”

Van Cliburn’s win at the first International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow at the height of the Cold War kicked off the career one of the greatest pianists in the history of music. In 1962, volunteers established the First Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth in his honor. In recognition of the Cliburn’s 60th year, we welcome current president and CEO, Jacques Marquis, to discuss the story of one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world.
