Corned Beef in Cowtown: The History of Jewish Fort Worth
6 p.m. Reception
6:30 p.m. Dinner, followed by talk
Carshon’s Delicatessen
3133 Cleburne Rd.
Fort Worth has a rich Jewish history that begins with the arrival of the town’s first Jewish pioneers in the 1850s and continues through two congregations, a mayor and a congressman, and a number of business and philanthropic leaders.
Hollace Weiner, a dedicated historian and archivist, will share that story
during our meeting, which also includes a delicious meal in a landmark kosher-style deli (it plays its own role in the tale). Chocolate and coconut cream pies are an added bonus! We hope that you can join us.
Absolute deadline for reservations is 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2024
