Quanah Parker, Comanche Indian ChiefOctober is Archeology Month in Texas! James Everett will explore the Comanches, the Caddo, and the Wichita, along with Archaic and Paleolithic cultures. He will also include those groups who were present in North Texas only briefly during the 1830s and 1840s. James will also provide historical information on the Battle of Village Creek, Bird’s Fort, and other local events.

James Everett has participated in prehistoric and historic period archeological projects in many areas of Texas as well as in New Mexico and Arizona.  He is a Past President of the Texas Archeological Society, a Past President of the North Texas Archeological Society, and an Archeological Steward for the Texas Historical Commission.
