Chandor Gardens is a five-acre garden estate in Weatherford, Texas, developed between 1935 and 1952 by renowned English portrait painter Douglas Chandor, with his wife Ina. It was known as “White Shadows” during Douglas’ lifetime.

Carved from a caliche hillside that had been his in-laws’ cow pasture, the property consists of eclectic gardens arranged in a series of rooms and displaying the influence of Neoclassical, Arts and Crafts, and Chinese garden styles. The garden will be at its springtime prime.

Overall, Chandor Gardens appears very much as it did during Douglas Chandor’s lifetime. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark.

After feasting on lunch (with both adult and regular beverages) during our escorted bus trip to Weatherford, we’ll have a delightful guided tour led by Chandor Gardens docents and return to Fort Worth via our bus.

Absolute deadline for reservations is 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025
